For guests

You’re on the short list. Here’s what to expect.

If you have been invited to a Meridain dinner, here is the short version. It is a private, moderated conversation among senior peers, hosted by one company during a trade show. You will be asked one good question. You will not be pitched.

The evening

Two hours, one table, one question.

Phones down, glasses up. Dinner is three or four courses in a private room near the show, and we keep to the clock we promised.

The company that invited you is the host. They want to understand how leaders like you think about a problem they care about, and they have agreed to listen rather than sell. A Meridain moderator opens with the question, draws out the table and keeps time.

You leave with what the best dinners give you: a few people worth knowing, a sharper view of a shared problem and an evening that was not wasted.

Your words

How recording and quotes work.

We record audio so the host gets an accurate written account of the conversation. The recording is used only to prepare that account and is not shared beyond the host’s team.

Nothing you say is published, posted or attributed to you by name outside that team without your written consent. If you say something you want struck, tell the moderator, then or later, and it comes out.

Questions guests ask

Plain answers.

Will I be pitched?

No. Not at the table, not after dessert, not in a follow-up you did not ask for. The host is there to listen. If that rule is broken, tell us and we will make it right.

Who will I be sitting with?

Ten to twelve senior leaders who own decisions like yours: peers, not salespeople. The host company has one or two people at the table, and a Meridain moderator runs the conversation.

Is the conversation recorded?

Audio is recorded so the host gets an accurate account of what was said. Nothing you say is published or attributed to you by name without your written consent. You can ask for anything to be struck from the record, during the dinner or after.

Will there be photos?

Only at arrival and at close, and only of guests who have signed a media release. No cameras during the conversation. You can opt out on the spot.

How do I decline or change my answer?

Reply to the person who invited you, or write to us. A no is always fine, and it will not lead to a sales follow-up.
